Acai Side Effects

There have been no reports of severe, adverse negative Acai side effects. The Acai berry is a small reddish purple berry grown in the Amazon Rain forest, and since it is a natural product, negative side effects of Acai berry products are rare, mild and similar to those of a pollen allergy.

If known pollen allergies are present, then mild irritations could occur. The Acai berry is used in supplements and for skin care. These can lead to side effects by ingesting or applying substances containing the fruit.

Though this is the only negative side effect to the actual berry, negative side effects to other substances added to supplements and skin care can occur. Many companies add other ingredients to their products. These products can cause negative side effects or adverse reactions.

There are no known negative side effects between pure Acai berry and medications. However, you should carefully read product labels to ensure that "other ingredients" will not react with current medications. As always, if in doubt, speak with a health care professional or nutritionist.

Since every supplement pill is made up of entirely different properties, care should be taken by pregnant or lactating women. Pregnant women should consult with their doctor. Lactating women should consult with their pediatrician before beginning any Acai berry supplement.

Very few negative Acai side effects have been reported, and those that were reported were very mild and moderate. None were alarming enough to make individuals quit taking the supplement. A simple reduction in the amount of the supplement taken was usually enough to remedy these mild Acai side effects.

Though there are very few mild negative benefits of the Acai berry, there are many positive side effects and benefits of Acai berries. These effects have been widely reported with great success rates. Both Acai berry supplements and skin care products have great health benefits.

One positive side effect is weight loss. Acai berries are naturally high in fiber and nutrients. These give the body an energy boost that aids in weight loss as well.

Since Acai berries are extremely high in antioxidants, Acai berry supplements help rid the body of free radicals. These free radicals are responsible for diabetes, cancer and many other diseases. When added to a healthy diet, Acai berry can help the body natural rid itself of these free radicals.

Since free radicals contribute to aging, the Acai berry is also greatly known for its anti-aging properties. The high amounts of antioxidants aids in slowing the aging process. Acai berry is preferred to topical oils in skin care due to the long lasting shelf life of the antioxidants.

Though very few negative Acai side effects have been reported, care should always be used when taking a supplement. You should limit your daily intake to no more than 4,000 mg of Acai berry supplements, and 4 oz. of Acai berry puree. Pregnant and lactating women should talk with health care professional before using. If allergic reactions are noticed, or other medications are being taken, seek advice from a health care professional.
